The HeartStart FRx is a simple, robust and reliable AED for first responders.

Internal self-tests ensure it is always ready to use and guide the user through clear voice instructions. While most sudden cardiac arrests do not occur in extreme environments, some do. The Heartstart FRx is built to withstand environments where lifeguards may be required to be present: rainy weather, on airplanes, swimming pools, metal surfaces or industrial areas.

FRx can withstand splashing water, loads up to 250 kg and a 1 meter drop onto a concrete floor.

Reliable
The Heartstart FRx is built with experience from a base of over 200,000 installed Heartstart AEDs (Jan 2005), since the introduction of AEDs bearing the Heartstart name.

The features of the Heartstart FRx have been field-tested with predecessors from the Heartstart series, and have important new improvements that make the FRx a reliable and stable partner in critical moments.

Always Ready
Internal self-tests are key to reliability in infrequently used products. The Heartstart FRx has daily, weekly and monthly self-tests of functions including electrode testing to ensure everything is working when you need it most.

Minimal maintenance
The Heartstart FRx does not require a regular technical maintenance program. All vital functions are tested in the internal self-test program, which also checks energy charge/discharge and electrodes.

When the status indicator flashes green, it confirms that everything is OK and the FRx is ready for use. Otherwise, the FRx will emit an audible signal indicating that maintenance is required, such as changing pads or batteries.

With the FRx in standby mode, maintenance simply consists of visual inspection and replacement of consumables such as pads (every 2 years) and battery (every 4 years).
